Joe Mathias established Concourse Capital Management in 2008 and serves as the Portfolio Manager for Concourse Capital Partners, L.P. Prior to Concourse, Mr. Mathias served as the Vice President of Investments at GMT Capital, a multi-billion-dollar private investment company. While at GMT from 2002 to 2008, he was responsible for the Media, Technology, and Telecommunication sectors of the portfolio.

Prior to GMT Capital, Mr. Mathias served as the Vice President of Corporate Development for WebMD, Inc. from 1998 to 2001. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mathias worked extensively in private equity investments within the media sector. As the Founder and General Partner of Benchmark Communications L.P. from 1990 to 1997, he sourced and purchased 40 radio stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states. The majority of Benchmark was sold to Capstar Broadcasting Partners, an affiliate of Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst, Inc.

Mr. Mathias earned his B.A. from Principia College and M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
